Welcome to Els Opals (pronounced El’s Opals).

Els Opals was founded in 2024 as a way for our family to share the beauty of Australian opals with the world.

Our family began mining Australian opals in Andamooka in the late 1970s, and we’re proud to continue that tradition today. Our family always dreamed of showcasing beautiful gemstones and unique jewellery that could be treasured for generations.

Unlike many other opal websites, we only sell opals that have been mined by our own family. This allows us to personally stand behind the authenticity, quality, and story of every stone we offer.

Els Opals is named after our daughter, who represents the fourth generation of our family’s opal journey. What began decades ago in the Australian outback has grown into a passion we are proud to continue and share with others.
